Enterprise work management platform Asana has recently introduced a range of AI features aimed at improving organizational productivity and achieving business goals. Leveraging the company’s proprietary Work Graph, these features allow executives to leverage AI to save time and resources, drive clarity and accountability, and make a greater impact.

Productivity-Centered AI Features
- Smart Fields: Custom fields are auto-generated to promote cross-functional collaboration and better project organization.
- Smart Editor: Draft notes are generated in appropriate tones, enhancing communication within teams.
- Smart Summaries: Highlights from task descriptions and comments, along with key action items, are produced for quick reference and efficient workflow.
Additionally, Asana plans to introduce smart workflows, a tool for creating auto-optimizing workflows using natural language inputs, and a ‘smart digest’ feed to track project updates and changes over time.
Enhancing Accountability with AI
Asana acknowledges the importance of team accountability and is introducing AI features to address it:
- Smart Status Tool: Real-time work data is used to generate comprehensive status updates for ongoing projects, highlighting potential roadblocks and open questions.
- Smart Answers: Asana will provide intelligent answers to natural language questions about specific projects, enabling quick insights and decision-making.
- Smart Search: Users can search the entire Work Graph using natural language, retrieving relevant information about different projects.
Furthermore, Asana will launch AI-driven tools to generate goals for teams, plan for different scenarios, and monitor and adjust team resourcing based on various parameters.
While these features are expected to be rolled out later this year or in Summer 2024, it’s clear that Asana is putting a strong focus on AI technology. However, it’s not the only company exploring AI in work management. Competitors like Monday.com and Slack are also incorporating AI in their platforms to enhance productivity and simplify work processes. The integration of AI into work management is a growing trend in the enterprise technology sector.
