Integration of LiDAR Technology in the FIA F1 Safety Car
Luminar also unveiled a strategic collaboration with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team to integrate their LiDAR technology into the Official FIA F1 Safety Car. This partnership aims to enhance the car’s ability to detect both stationary and moving objects under varying conditions.
The high-speed capabilities of Luminar’s LiDAR technology make it an ideal addition to the F1 Safety Car. The integration involves embedding the LiDAR technology into the roofline of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series.
