Organizations worldwide are embracing digital transformation at an accelerated pace, driven by the increasing availability of cloud services. According to a recent survey of business and IT decision makers, 95% of respondents stated that they already use or plan to adopt a multi-cloud approach, demonstrating the importance of a clear multi-cloud strategy in today’s post-pandemic world.
CIOs and their cloud partners can take several key steps to optimize internal operations and create a robust multi-cloud ecosystem. These steps include streamlining data management and automation, prioritizing cost transparency, and fostering collaboration. Unfortunately, many organizations waste significant resources and funds when adopting a multi-cloud strategy. The survey conducted by VMware revealed that, on average, 40% of cloud spending is directed towards unused applications and storage each year, resulting in cloud waste or “shelfware.”
