NVIDIA Enables Better AI on Windows PCs with RTX-Based GPUs

In a significant development for personal computing, Nvidia is bringing generative AI processing to Windows PCs using RTX-based graphics processing units (GPUs). This move marks the increasing accessibility and rapid growth of generative AI, which has become a transformative trend. Consumers now have access to simplified interfaces and user-friendly tools that utilize the power of GPU-optimized AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing (HPC) software.

Nvidia has been at the forefront of the AI revolution, enabling the integration of AI in data centers with a vast number of GPUs. Now, they are extending this capability to over 100 million Windows PCs worldwide that are equipped with RTX-based GPUs. This integration has been a five-year journey, with Nvidia’s dedicated AI processors, known as Tensor Cores, driving the generative AI capabilities on Windows PCs and workstations.

Jesse Clayton, director of product management and product marketing for Windows AI at Nvidia, expressed the significance of this moment, stating, “For AI on PCs, we think this is really one of the most important moments in the history of technology. And I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that for gamers, creators, video streamers, office workers, students, and really even casual PC users — AI is delivering new experiences. It’s unlocking creativity. And it’s making it easier for folks to get more done. AI is being incorporated into every important app. And it’s going to impact every PC user. It’s really fundamentally changing the way that people use computers.”
